Above excerpts are from recent President Bush’s address on March 17, days before the war started to topple Saddam’s regime. Also Bush criticized United Nations and its members for not co-operating with his war horned diplomacy. Major members of UN Security Council - Germany, France, Russia and China were not supportive of President Bush’s new doctrine of self defense “Pre-emptive military Action”, in another words “get the neighbors before they get you”. They repeated there is no justifying evidence which shows Saddam Hussein is an immediate threat to the world community with his weapons of mass destruction or harboring Al-Quaeda’s members. They continued to say let the inspectors do the job, let Hussein destroy his weapons, let United Nations decide what to do eventually and abide by the UN decision. It is not right to give an order to another country’s President to go to exile without the support of UN. The threat of war and its horrors against the people of Iraq is like finding them guilty of international crime. That demands at least “clear and convincing" proof. UN Inspectors told before Security Council that they did not find any smoking gun. But President Bush insists Saddam Hussein is lying and hiding the weapons we seek to have him to destroy. We need compelling reasons that clearly show Iraq poised an imminent threat to world community.

UN had played good role in finding diplomacy for major crisis among member countries in the past. Now UN becomes irrelevant. Member countries were divided on US - Iraq crisis. Diplomacy failed in every aspect. I lost all respect to UN and its functioning. UN could have done better than what it could be now. UN failed to enforce its resolutions. Germany and France are playing a different game. They think, nobody is able to read their thoughts but it is obvious that when United States wanted to head the world, Germany and France are letting European Union to control the world. Russia and China are not behind in anything. President Bush’s decision to invade Iraq is not good for us at present situation since our economy is under recession for last three years, companies are slashing jobs and retirement security of Americans, number of bankruptcy filing are increasing dramatically, Travel industry once again hit hard, States are struggling to meet its deficit in billions. In addition to this, Homeland Security department is duct taping our freedom which is creating huge burden of expense on Cities. Fears of nuclear-tipped crisis with North Korea, Iran’s thirst for nuclear arms and Bin Laden are still at large.

We have huge deficit already, it is going to be $2.7 trillion in next ten years. US-Led Iraq war is fueling this situation to high end since our military excursion to Iraq is costing over $1 billion a day. Each firing missile against Iraq cost $1 million. How many residents will survive such an attack, and will Saddam Hussein be the one killed among the thousands? He probably will be far from Baghdad. What is the cost of re-building of post-war Iraq? It can be minimum $500 billion. Who will contribute to this fund? Other members of allies will not contribute since war is not supported by United Nations. Every one knows that America will win this war; it may liberate Iraq or bring new dawn of democracy to Iraq but impact of war may create more Anti-Americanism among the people of Iraq, who lost everything in the war. Especially in children, they will grow while hearing stories of American invasion to their country, killing their beloved dad, mom, sister, brother and close relatives will throw the seeds of anti-Americanism in their blood. This will lead them to participate in acts of terrorism against United States for many years. In future, Iraq would be a native place for all terrorists and will stay same for one or two generations at least.
